Hans Christian Andersen, born April 2. 1805, was a Danish poet and author who is world famous for his fairy tales, among them “The Ugly Duckling”. He was also known for his paper clips and is one of the Danish Golden Age main characters. Hans Christian Andersen grew up in Odense, where to this day, you can see the house and many of his great works of art.
